I'm reading this book because I, and my parents, lived in Madrid until I was 4. Now I have visited three times, all within the last two years. My parents cannot believe how much Spain has changed, based on my descriptions. This book sounds like it will explain what happened over the last 40 years.

Suggested by a friend. A young adult novel - flips the current world-order, black people are the dominant group and white people are the oppressed. Although formulaic, it does give pause for reflection and has a surprise ending.

Finally reading Mona Eltahawy's book. She's one of my favorite people on Twitter. #feminist

Filled with 5-minute activities, based on the science of learning, to improve learning at the beginning, middle, and/or end of university classes. Skimmed a lot, and then thoroughly read starting with subtitle MODELS in each chapter. Great, usable advice!

Reading in the backyard.

It was a very quick read. But also very predictable. I never read mysteries, so I have no idea how this compares to others. But this is an example of why I avoid the entire genre. Too predictable.

And next up, for my intergenerational bookclub. :)

I liked it, but I didn't loooove it. Too many stops and starts in the storyline for me.

Halfway through this book - which I need to finish by tomorrow for a bookclub. Everytime I start to get into it, the scene/storyline changes too much and I lose interest as a result. 😕

A stunning translation of a #Catalan classic that takes place in Barcelona. About the decay and fall of the established aristocracy with a good measure of sexual intrigue. Would be a good read before visiting Barcelona.
