I just came back from camping in Kern County not so long ago and while I was up there, I managed to read a few books such as Gary Stewart‘s The Most Dangerous Animal of All. It‘s saddening and shocking to think that one person was outthinking basically all the people who were investigating his case and crimes

This book was a bit of a disappointment. Poor Gatsby dies because of Tom‘s jealousy and Daisy did nothing. She just ruined everything and caused the deaths of two people. However she went on with her life as if nothing happened. I can see why it‘s considered a classic but it was a bit of a letdown.

tessa.gray I feel that's kind of the point no? Fitzgerald wants to illustrate how shallow and careless these people of higher class are, caring only for themselves. They make messes and leave it for somebody else to clean up. Not to mention, Gatsby's death was important to follow through with the theme that the American dream is merely a facade 6y
