I know stories can‘t always have happy endings. But if there are chances for us to do better, we have to say out loud the parts that hurt the most.

Look, I‘m not 100% sure what I just read, but it was pretty damn entertaining either way. Not my usual thing - my brain struggled to follow some of it because it‘s told through a messenger style of writing, but I still got a decent picture and the characters were amusing, and it was a really quick read. #my2021reads

This brought me back to when I was thirteen and obsessing over “The Face on the Milk Carton” — it felt like an updated, alternative viewpoint of a missing person story, and I thoroughly enjoyed. I kept reading because I had to know what happened, had to see how the pieces fit together — very well done.

I don't really have words for this one. It was beautiful and heartbreaking, and it left me wanting to know more beyond what the character put in her diary entries. I think I'd like to read the Spanish version for comparison since this is a translation.

Vish Puri is a gem, pure and simple; another lovely book in this series.

It was dark and beautiful, and I'm half hoping for more, but will totally be satisfied if it remains a duology as well. I'm not normally drawn to dark fairy tales, but the author has a magical way of writing that keeps me reading.

A little slow to start, but once I really got into it, it was a really fascinating read. I look forward to seeing more in this series!

Oh, this was very much in the spirit of Jane Austen, and I approve of it in every way.

This book is so utterly perfect in every way. Quirky, magical, queer, diverse, and full of heart... this might end up being my favorite read of the year.

A little Christmas in June as I catch up on this series. I just really love all of the characters in them, nicely tied bows at the end and all. #quarantinereads

A quick read, with a few twists I didn't expect. I preferred the first half over the last few letters though. #quarantinereads

A re-read in anticipation of the new release. Still just as good as the first time I read it. #quarantinereads

I absolutely loved this book. It had just the right amount of quirky, realistic, witty, and relatable characters, dialogue, and moments that left me feeling so very satisfied by the end. I want more from this world, please. #quarantinereads

Could there be a better way to start the summer than a queer teen romcom styled book? It hit all of the right notes, and they need to make a Netflix movie stat. #quarantinereads

Eh, I wish there had been more focus on the family stuff because I really liked that side of things, but it was alright. #quarantinereads

This was so much better than I thought it would be, especially given the premise. I enjoyed the humor, and the heart, and I almost feel the need to own my own copy. #quarantinereads

A fairly quick read, this series of vignettes were oddly uplifting despite the dark humor, but that could be due to the fact that I'm stuck at home while work is closed. #quarantinereads

I don't think words can describe just how much I loved this book. I loved the modern adaptation of some of the myths and legends I grew up with as a kid, and omg, the Spanish phrases scattered throughout! This is the first time I've read a book with Latino characters that speak like people I grew up with! Totally a new favorite to recommend.

Talk about nostalgia. This had me reliving all of the YA books I grew up reading in my tiny hometown library. The Face on the Milk Carton? Christopher Pike? Lois Duncan? God, I feel old now.

This book is worth the hype - so much so that I‘m going to have to pick up my own copy at the bookstore so I can read it again and again and again... #bookrecs

I love heartwarming tales about animals, and this one made my heart sing. The love these men have for their pig, a most unusual pet, and the lengths they go to in order to keep her is truly awe inspiring.
