The Ruin of Kings by Jenn Lyons

Riders of the Dead | Dan Abnett

This was not only my first foray into the books of Warhammer, but also into adult “dark“ fantasy. I didn't know exactly what to expect because I've heard the lore of Warhammer is vast in scope. However, when I read this book, I felt like I did when I read fantasy books in middle and high school. It was very difficult for me to stop reading once I started, which I take as a sign of a good book.

Mehso-so

The thing that I dislike about these types of books is not the content. I think stories of mysterious, unexplained, or straight up creepy things can be fascinating and make our sometimes mundane world seem more mysterious. But that isn't really what you get from this book. The stories included are not really stories, they're basically news stories that simply list facts about an event, not much story included.
