A wonderful read- following both the bomber who plans to assassinate Margaret Thatcher and the manager of the hotel (and his daughter) where the bomb will go off. Beautiful writing makes all the characters sympathetic- no mean feat. As the tension builds it's impossible to put down.

A beautiful read that speaks so much to our disconnect from the small moments of our lives. In this depiction of one man's life in a small village there is everything- a microcosm of the world really. Shortlisted for the Booker International- read it!

A year as seen by a shepherd in the Lake District, but so much more. A meditation on home, place, belonging, and connection. An uncompromising view of farm life and the realities of living in such a popular area. A must read, plus the author has a great Instagram with lots of sheep pictures!

Fantastic new book from the author of The Miniaturist- A missing painting that resurfaces, the story of the painting, the painter, the Spanish Civil War, a family saga, love, deceit, friendship and loyalty. Set in 1936 Spain and 1967 London. I stayed up very late to finish this!
