Pickpick

So many things to live here! First, I LOVE the app Libby. It‘s linked to my local library so that I can listen to audiobooks through my local library, so I am willing to try books I wouldn‘t usually hope to. Also, I loved this audio book. A young woman‘s life is in flux because she loses her mother and falls in love with a young man who may or may not be gay. This is funny, heartbreaking, and full of life lessons that you should try it yourself!

I totally hit the jackpot at my local thrift store today. I found all of these, plus six Maximum Ride paperbacks that ended up in my classroom.

I so wanted to really love this book, but I just did not. The main character was too wishy washy for my taste. Although to be fair, I did finish the book.

Booksblanketsandahotbeverage Agree! The ending *may* have made up for it, but it felt rushed. (edited) 6y

I am listening to Everless and reading Throne of Glass right now. I can‘t decide which world I am more fascinated with, which makes me wish my super power was multitasking so that I could do both at the same time.

One of my students, who says he hates to read, was sneak-reading this afternoon in class when he was supposed to be working on another assignment. When we talked about this series, he said it‘s a must read, so I am starting it tonight! (And while I was teaching grammar, he was learning more than I could teach him in that moment.) Teacher win! And I‘m starting the series tonight. #youngadult #teacherwin

If you haven‘t read Far From the Tree, read it now! Three lost teens learn they are siblings and help each other to learn, grow, and love each other and the families who love them. Love, forgiveness, laughter, and sorrow. This book with heart has it all. #ya #youngadult

I am listening to this currently and I love it! Lily, who often doesn‘t take her ADHD medications is heartfelt, loving, impetuous, and imperfect in her life. She has a complicated life and is trying to navigate it, but usually trips. With a few people rooting for her and encouraging her, and I find that I am rooting right along side with them.

RaimeyGallant Nice review. :) Welcome to Litsy! #LitsyWelcomeWagon Some of us put together Litsy tips to help new Littens navigate the site. It's the link in my bio on my page in case you're interested. :) 6y
acurrier Thank you for the welcome and the compliment. I will definitely read the tips as I feel not quite competent yet. 🙂 6y
acurrier So I just finished listening to the novel. The Love Letters of Abelard and Lily and The Hate U Give may be my favorite all-time favorite YA novels. Both give the reader insight into a world that is typically marginalized due to stereotypes. 6y
DebinHawaii Welcome to Litsy!! 🎉📚👍😀Hope you are enjoying it here! 6y
