So, this is the least desirable topic to study. Final punishment. If you take the Bible seriously as the word of God then it is worth your time to study what it teaches. about it . Bring your assumptions about immortality and your assumptions about “Hell”. This is the most exhaustive study done on it period the end. Edward Fudge has done a phenomenal job. It‘s 500-ish pages so bring your Bible and prepare to be challenged!

Excellent rough sketch about the life to come! N.T Wright gives an excellent case for a physical eternity and its implications for the now.

Definitely not casual reading by 2 Hebrew experts who teach for Southern Baptist Seminary. They are charting a path between dispensational teaching and Reformed Covenantal teaching using their knowledge of Hebrew to show the way. I think they do a great job. However you end up, if you want to know about biblical Covenants, this book will contribute to your knowledge about the Bible in a deeper meaningful way!

A solid scriptural outlay of what the what age to come means. If you are looking for a disembodied souls in Heaven then this is not what God is doing in the world. God‘s salvation extends to the entire creation not just people. 2 Peter 3:13 describes the eschatological hope:
“But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.” Our future is a physical AND REDEEMED one!
