A Discovery of Witches | Deborah E. Harkness

SO glad I read and loved A Discovery of Witches! On first glance, I worried it may be campy, its not! What I got, was a well written experience, brainy characters, actual researched topics, and a good romance thrown in. Themes of overcoming bigotry, finding ones own magic, strength, & self acceptance, all the while kicking some asses & solving an ancient mystery and if, or what it has to do with the MC. I could rave. The show is great too!

City We Became | N K Jemisin
Pickpick

There are few author's that I love everything they've written and will always recommend, and N. K. jemisin's books are always worth reading, (or listening to, since the audio-books have exceptional voice actors-highly recommend) experiencing, and contemplating. There is depth, emotion, excitement, imteresting characters. Complexity and cleverness, great over all story telling, worthy themes and humanity.

Things are becoming more exciting, the characters are dealing with complex situations, the action gets better and better. I found it binge worthy.

I am loving this series, it is quick to fall into the world and well done! The issues are reflective of certain issues in real life but set against a whole other kind of society. There are many exciting moments that keep you reading or listening to the book. Its nice to have another series to fall into, but having just finished the 3rd book, I'm struggling g to wait for the official 4th book and am now moving on to the prequels while I wait.

I'll edit this later, but loved the fun setting, eccentricities, and mystery solving.
