Pickpick

The beginning of this book is so strong. It paints broad strokes of a bleak dystopian future and dying world. The entire novel is heavy with '80s pop culture references and nerdy trivia. Towards the middle it slows to a crawl but steadily picks back up. My complaints would be there's a love interest that doesn't seem to fit too well for me. Overall I highly recommend it just for the ride it gives. Don't look too closely and enjoy it for what it is

Initially thought this book was an overhyped drag but it's slowly turning into me loosing track of time and being amazed at how it's pulling me in. Excited to see where this series takes me.

Ready Player One | Ernest Cline

I love when a book is praises and it turns out it's actually a stellar book. This one is a page turner. A lot of information repeats in the beginning but man, once it kicks in it kicks in hard. So excited I got this for Christmas!!

The Magicians: A Novel | Lev Grossman

So I'm watching "The Magicians" on Netflix and I love this show. The characters are crass and edgy but in a comical way. The show is also really rolling along. There's always something going on and something new to progress it. I tried to read the book but hated it. The characters were so narcissistic and vile. If I read the entire thing and series do they get better and progress like the shows characters? I'm tempted to pick it back up.

Twilight | Stephenie Meyer

Say what you want about Twilight. But it still amazes me just how much that series has reverberated throughout other books and inspired like minded themes. I think it got a bad rap. But that's a biased opinion :)
