Until I read DEATH ON THE NILE, I‘d never in my life read any plot so complex, planned to every last detail, with twists so carefully laid out and moves forward through dialogue as opposed to description.

I've finished LORD OF SHADOWS minus twenty books because I'd already arranged with someone to sell it to them even before I finished it. That's how I feel about the book. The author has so many good ideas which are sadly ruined by the endless amount of teenage romance and characters having crushes over a multiple people at the same time and that's totally OK. And just too much LGBT. It's a shame because Cassandra Clare's books have good plots.

I don't know how I feel about this book. I think I expected more, fantasy-wise, but it's still not bad.

Since the Wizarding World Book Club is starting with PHILOSOPHER'S STONE, I figured I'd eventually get out of my comfort zone and start reading chapter books in German. (Good thing this one has pictures, in that case.)

I plan to read it next week right after Ramadan.
