Bratva Darling | Sabine Barclay
Mehso-so

The start was promising with a strong, feisty and determined young woman, Laura. Her relationship taking a rapid pace from the moment she meets Maksim. Because they‘re instantly infatuated with each other, they‘re toxic, both jumping to conclusions and making assumptions. Result, a lot of explosive miscommunication.
Unfortunately, the characters didn‘t flourish on the page enough for me to care about them.

Starting off this book felt like a fantasy book, which was due to the extensive witchcraft talk and spirit calling. It‘s a process you have to get used to and the more you continue the witchcraft gets explained a little more as it‘s relevant to the plot.
If you like a why choose dark academia‘s mystery, this will definitely feed that need and still the hunger. The plot is exciting and the characters are fun yet complex and secretive.

This started out amazing, dark and stalkerish. It left enough to wonder about, sucking you into the storyline of who Tommy and Clara are to one another. Something Montana Fyre does very well is captivating emotions may it be happiness, sadness or dread. She manages to pull you in and make you feel what the characters are feeling.
There was great plot, the smut however wasn‘t for me due to too much dialogue and certain words choices.

From Hell | Mallory Fox

It‘s a likable story, with actions from characters that make you question your morals (funeral wake, coffin scene -iykyk). If you enjoy the many history stories about Jack the Ripper, you‘ll definitely like this retelling with new twists and turns. The story sucks you in the moment more and more little hints are dropped. Making you crave more.

In Creed We Trust | Sherelle Green
Mehso-so

A great starting book for readers who want to try dark romance.
Sherelle Green is an amazing author who uses descriptive scenes that are a delight that turn into beautiful movie scenes. The smut & spice is something that was beautifully written, descriptive, very affirmative and connective. They felt like actual humans instead of these supernatural forces.
Though the characters lacked a little depth and I missed moments of reconnection.

This might just be my new Credence. After Laney becomes orphaned a week before turning 18 she finds her way navigating through an unknown life of luxury. But, only for a moment as she gets in a plane crash with her stepfather and his sons. Cade, Darius and Laney band together to have Reed be the one to “initiate” Laney into adulthood felt a bit odd yet it was incredibly funny. Like he got dibs for some reason other than “it just feels right”.

This plot-driven story almost was a game for your own mind with all the twists, turns and questions that would form after reading each chapter. Bringing familiar horror elements used in film to the pages. Bryony and Will getting caught in the vengeance mission of Zye, both left scarred after being captured and through this experience growing closer to one another…finally. They edge you good for the first part in the book. I loved their banter!

I loved the pacing of the book, I loved the characters, I loved the plot, I loved the storyline. A why choose that is paced out slowly & allows the reader to get well acquainted with the characters first & their personal relations within the group.
I‘m intrigued by the plot that I want to find out more. How is everything going to be tied up together? Where did Wyatt run off to? When will he be back? How is the group going to handle Wyatt missing?

A very dark themed tale.
From the first page till the last, Ruthless Arrangement will break you apart, make you shed tears and slowly but surely sow you back together with a happy ending. Brooke Summer has a way to captivate the characters in a ways like they‘re real.
Teagan goes through a lot trauma, Elio doesn‘t necessarily make it any better at first. He could‘ve groveled more, but in the end he showed up for Teagan when she most needed him.

This being a forced marriage made me wonder why Malakai would‘ve needed to force Olivia‘s hand and why he had to threaten her sister.
It‘s definitely a slow burn with fun moments to keep you on your toes. We slowly see them falling for one another it‘s not until around 80% that we actually start seeing them fallING hard for one another. I‘ll applaud their Barbados trip for it. All the walls they both had suddenly seemed to crumble.

This had so much and more - there was a love story, character growth, plottwists and a lot of family drama. Straight from the get go this book gave me Peaky Blinders vibes yet the FMC was the one with the pants on and created her own little army against her own family. And…I loved every second of it.

Kiss of darkness | Taylor Aston White
Mehso-so

If you‘ve seen or read The Mortal Instruments, this book strongly gave off those vibes. From the main characters, to the villains and to the Guardians hunting down Deamons.
This wasn‘t for me for one reason only: I‘m not a fantasy/paranormal reader. Though I didn‘t mind the story, but was confused quite a bit, probably due to the high fantasy aspects this book contained. The story definitely has potential.

Devil's Pawn | Natasha Knight

The thoughts, feelings, emotions and relationships these characters have with one another is complex yet warming. I was feeling all of it on a different levels. Happy laughs from little moments between Angelique and Isabelle. To warming heart moments between Isabelle and Leontine. To anxious moments of all the possibilities Jericho might do to Isabelle.
There‘s a few plot twists that are good and making you want to continue reading.

From the get go Olivia and Malachi couldn‘t be more different when it comes to superficial looks and likings. Where she‘s all fluffy unicorns and rainbows, he‘s all gloomy, dark mystery and sadness. Overall I enjoyed this dark somewhat pitch black book where dubious choices were made and characters tried to redeem themselves into becoming better people for others. Yet screwdrivers will never ever be looked at the same again.

This was a hard book to put down, almost impossible. It was a great dark romance read, with a dubious yet devoted morally grey man who‘s willing to go to incredible lengths to show his love through his actions (blood tattoo). An FMC who‘s navigating through life again and trying to regain her memories slowly but surely. At times seeking them out in alternative and unusual ways.

Obsession | Gemma Weir
Pickpick

The title Obsession speaks for itself as we kick of with Starling and Sebastian, a complicated, funny, dramatic, unhinged and absolutely chaotic pair. Even on their own they‘re loose cannonballs with lethal capacity. Sebastian‘s friends hold themselves and Sebastian accountable for Starlings current state of being, mistrusting everyone. I liked how eventually this turned around and she was able to trust again and made a new friend, Sammy.

This story will pull your heartstrings, make your stomach flip and make you yearn and long for more precious moments.
It‘s beautiful how both characters feel a pull against one another, but keep each other at arms length. Their inner struggles, monologue and even sometimes dialogue is a refreshing insight that will pull you into the story more and more. Watching them give into their attraction for one another was beautiful.

It‘s a fast paced novel with not a too complicated plot line to follow. Where there‘s immediate sparks between Cole and Tia, there‘s the opposite between her and Lucas. Once Tia realizes why Lucas is the way he is they get to build their relationship slowly but surely. This book is a part of a series and I‘m honestly curious to find out how brother nr3, Rage, will turn around as he and Tia have a history together.

This book was dark, twisty and hits a taboo topic (extramarital affair). With a flashback to the past we find out that Piya has found herself in a precarious situation with Axel. Their ways get separated and Piya continues life and seems to have lost her spark a little through the years. Axel re-entering her life makes her flourish again. I loved that she stood up for herself at the end. By choosing Jay, who‘s dying, by putting Axel on hold.

Due to an unfortunate happening Rowen has a strained relationship with her father. This secret is the reason Elias is seeking revenge. As the story progresses it‘s clear that both MC‘s have always loved each other and can‘t live without one another. Yet only one can survive the game of The Scourge as they‘re both made the selection for the Harvest Dozen.

A fast paced book, with not much depth. Missing consistency of the characters slowing down and actually communicating. Both expected the other to be a mind reader. The trauma bordered glorification of traumatizing vile acts. However, I don‘t think the author meant it to happen.
The feeling of belonging, making a home somewhere and settling down was something both Blade and Veronica deserved. Having found their home with each other and the club.

Ryker | Briana Michaels
Pickpick

If you‘re looking for a character driven story with great spicy smut, this would be it. Ryker is a spicy club owner who‘ll go the extra mile for the ones he loves. This is a hot spicy read with complicated dynamics that blossom into intriguing and vulnerable moments. Following Tara and Ryker‘s journey they each work through their own trauma‘s and end up finding each other in an unexpected way.

This is not for you if you‘re NOT into sharing, adult clubs and a good variety of adult activities.

This book was like crack to me and I sped through it so easily and quickly. Also due to the short and steady paced chapters, the likability of the characters, the storyline and the fun of it all as we read through it. It was steamy, spicy, thrilling, pleasurable and a (w)hole amazing sharing experience. (Yes, pun intended, I know, lame).
