Infinite Country: A Novel | Patricia Engel
Pickpick

There are so many different realities regarding immigration. This was the story of a Colombian family trying to start a new life in the U.S. Some of these details I knew. Others, I did not. And for that reason, I hope to read more stories like this. This story is short (under 200 pages) but gives you plenty to think about. I really enjoyed this one.

I really enjoyed this YA story. If you became immortal, would you consider it a gift or a curse? This is the exact question 10 year old Winnie must consider as she goes on a wild journey with a family that shares this secret with her.

This was fun. Take a classic southern city (Savannah) and layer in some voodoo, some rich folks, some crazy folks, a sprinkle of murder, a smidge of con artists and a drag Queen I would love to meet. This kept my interest on a well paced adventure.

Loved it! I think mainly because it showcased that people are complicated and things aren‘t always what they seem. Evelyn Hugo went after what she wanted and she trampled on some folks along the way. But I really liked her for it. She was who she was and she didn‘t apologize for it.
