Are You Sleeping | Kathleen Barber
Pickpick

This was a great book! I love mysteries where I can't figure out who the killer is within the first couple chapters, and this book left me guessing a different person at the end of every one! By the end of the book, I was shocked to learn who it was. The reading was cool too; I loved the use of social media to include outside character opinions and help play on the story line.

I truly loved this read. I felt a personal connection to the author. Reading her stories made me reflect upon my own hopes & dreams, my own writing & stories. Her writing was beautiful, written in a way I could put myself into her stories & made me think. I wish the world could be privileged with more of her work, watch her grow as a writer. Marina's death has inspired me to stop waiting. To share my stories. She is a true inspiration for me.

I've read past reviews about the author being self-absorbed in her writing; a typical story about a sad little rich girl who was too privileged & went down a bad path. I can somewhat agree, but we all have a story to tell. I enjoyed the book. Im not a drug addict but, there were parts in her story I felt I could really relate to Cat. The way she told her story captivated me. My only concern was the glorification of the drug use alongside the bad.

A GREAT READ!! An essential for getting your shit together. Poehler is so funny and real. She tackles all the right topics every girl needs to read, while keeping a light heart and showing us all how to be a kind, wonderful person! I'll definitely be buying this one, thanks KFPL for the loan 💞

I was expecting this to filled with humour after reading the chapter titles on the contents page. And after actually reading each story, I was surprised at how real they actually were. I thought it was a great read. Although I cant relate to Amy's career path & some of her struggles, I can relate when she talks about dating & the most when she calls herself an introvert. There are definitely a few spots I'd like to go back & re-read again!

100% yes!!!! I literally hugged this book after finishing it. Drew's stories spoke to me in ways I can't describe in words. Each one left me in tears, something new learned, and a completely different perspective on so many things. Drew's positivity and happiness radiates throughout this book. I've never read something that spoke to me in such a personal way. You have truly inspired me Drew Barrymore. I wish to be like you one day.

This book has been so inspirational & surprisingly relatable for me. I've found myself teary-eyed during almost every chapter. Drew's writing makes you feel like she's sitting in the room telling you the stories herself. Not only that, her experiences are so much like my own which I wasn't expecting. It's encouraging to know someone so iconic has struggled, yet overcame & achieved so many great things ❤
