Pickpick

Brain Robeson is a thirteen-year-old boy who got into a plane accident while flying to his Dad in northern Canada in the Canadian wilderness. After the plane crash, he‘s left nothing but a hatchet given by his mother. Surviving to the fullest, Brain tries his best to gather food and shelter. The problems of the wild begin to affect David's lifestyle, nothing can be expected with the harsh conditions.

Nathan_356 If you like books with adventure and survival at the fullest with heart-stopping moments, then this book is for you.
The Hatchet is a Third Person Omniscient view. The techniques used by the author by favoring Brian's perspective and don't narrate the thoughts and feelings of other characters. This style suits the story as Brian spends much of the book alone with nobody to speak to but lots of time to think.

Hero | Jennifer Li Shotz
post image

Hero, a now-retired police dog, has been doing police work for years before finally taking his well-deserved retirement. Ben‘s dad was the owner of Hero but passed it down to his son Ben. Ben brought the puppy (named Scout) and told his parents he wanted to keep him. Ben‘s parents were hesitant but decided to save Scout for the time being and investigate dog fights being set because of the evidence provided on Scout‘s wounds.

Nathan_356 If you like books with dogs using their enhanced senses or investigation looking into crime then this book is for you. The theme of this book is bravery. Throughout the book, I noticed that Hero and Ben would go out of their way to bring justice to people or animals. Ben would take the responsibility to take Hero in and use him to not only take care of him but to help others with him and his father trying to figure out the dangerous man involved.
