I just finished watching The Secrets of Crickley Hall and wanted more. I did look up James Herbert but my library didn‘t have his books available in ebook format. So I went to Amazon and hesitated to buy anything at the moment. One review mentioned Susan Hill‘s The Woman in Black. Luckily my library had it. It is really fulfilling that need for a spooky setting and that 1940‘s dramatic feel.

This is an okay escapist read. A bit mystical. A bit bland.

Joy Reid, host of MSNBC‘s Morning Joy, takes a look into the evolution of the Democratic party. Learning!

Fascinating look into the Trump White House. A lot less “National Enquirer” vibe than I was expecting.

After listening to a fascinating account of Anne Bronte‘s life on the podcast Tea and Tattle, I had to pick up this book. With a griping story and a strong defense of women‘s rights this is once again a timely novel.

I have just started Uncommon Type and maybe it is too soon to weigh in. But I found the first two short stories bland and not interesting . I am definitely a person who, once started, has to read thru a whole book. So we will see but so far, a book with lots of hype and no delivery.

MyReviewofBooks I would update this to - whatever you do - don‘t buy this book. It was hype with little delivery. 6y

Following the trend of hygge, I picked up several books on Lagom this Christmas. This was by far the best. A great and fast read to introduce you to the Swedish concept of living with “just enough”. Brones provides a history, practical tips, fun stories and even a few recipes. If you are searching for a way to feel cozy and satisfied read this!

A fantastic book. If you are on the search for some serious feminist writers this book hands them over to you. Quick and quirky blurbs about their lives. Evocative illustrations. A must own.

I was so intimidated to pick up Anna Karenina. Now I am enthralled and wondering what took me so long?

I heard about this book by listening to Oprah‘s podcast Super Soul Sunday. I was just inspired to get it. For years we have been told to learn how to say “no”! Now how about learning to say “yes”?!

The voice of Eleanor has just grabbed me. It‘s like talking to a friend or really to yourself. Just starting this book but so far a really good read. Eleanor has made a quiet life for herself. But you know something else is going on when she matter a factly tells how she got her job. “Showing up with a broken arm and a black eye...”.

wanderlustforwords LOVED this book! One of my top of the year. 6y

This came today. It featured so heavily in Alice Hoffman‘s The Rules of Magic that I wanted to see it for myself.

I am new to The Queen. When life is busy and times seem tough there is no where to go but to Lucia. A great comedy of the petty nonsenses we create for ourselves. All hail to The Queen.

DebinHawaii Welcome to Litsy! 🎉📚👍😀Hope you enjoy it here! 6y
