This book was rather surprising. The way the author juxtaposes two lives lived weaves a tale of mystery and intrigue and at the end the vital thread is pulled that simultaneously brings the story together and makes the mystery come to a crashing conclusion. What I thought I knew was proven very false and I loved every minute of it. Definitely a book worthy of a reread --- 5/5 💕💯👍

I am a huge fan of Jodi Picoult and her books! In this story I love the way she takes the topic of racism and shows the dichotomy of its prevalence in modern day America. The beginning is sort of redundant as she writes the same situations but from the different characters point of view, but that does give tremendous depth to the character development and story. ---- 4/5 💕👍
