This is an excellent and pretty quick read. A story of survival and perseverance after a young boy's plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness.

I love The Dark Tower series (impossible to make into a single movie). Amazing characters, adventures and layers of intricately woven stories and lore. So, another small dose of my favourite characters was long awaited and happily received. A story - in a story - in a story- it can be read alone or as part of the magnificent series. This is a classic novel by an influential author. I think Steinbeck deals with a lot of important issues about people and society in this short and punchy book. Issues of loneliness and social responsibility are apt for a modern audience as well as the audience of his time.
