Re-reading as just watched Other Boleyn Girl and the classic movie ‘A Man For All Seasons” (a different line on Thomas More) so needed a deep dive. Swapping between audio/ebook and following up with TV series. Took me a bit to work out there is a short (7hr) and the full audio version-d‘oh! I find the writing sort of dreamy and quite beautiful but also slow (like life!) so I can see the wildly varying reactions it provokes-does that in me too!

Severnmeadows Thanks for the interesting Guardian link. 5y

Pickpick

First review! Read as Scribd audio book. Of interest as I live in Western Australia (but we are on the Indian Ocean, hence the picture of Sydney Opera House!). Enjoyed as audio when doing chores/walking as easy to dip in and out. I was expecting something more chronological, but this is an eclectic selection of wide-ranging topics post-1950 (eg surfing, weather, geopolitics). Took me a while to adjust but then I liked the ‘meandering‘ style.
