Meh. The book was too long, with too many time jumps that left me wanting more information. Then, a very abrupt ending. It would have helped to have an epilogue.

Another fabulous debut novel! Amy Ashton becomes a hoarder after the disappearance of her beloved boyfriend, and best friend. The loss, grief, and unknown reasons why her 2 favorite people disappear shatters her, until a family next door with 2 little boys opens up her heart again. There are flashbacks describing why Amy hordes varies items like wine bottles, coffee mugs, lighters. It‘s the littlest things that mean the most.

A lovely and wonderful debut novel. I listened to the audio version, which enhanced the experience with the Scottish, British, and Swedish accents. Two women, one only 17 and the other 83 meet in hospital, and bond over stories and art. It‘s truly a book about creating family relationships in people one meets at critical points in one‘s life. Have a box of tissues in hand, as there are several scenes I had tears pouring down my face. 💗💜

This book did not live up to the hype and press it has gotten this spring. A bored with her life assistant has a brief affair with an actress‘ husband, and then starts to stalk the family. I skimmed the rest of the book trying to find out the hype behind this book, but gave up. Hard pass.

Beautifully written with so much warmth. It is a very descriptive read, and the author used many unfamiliar words that I had to look up, which was a fun bonus.

Talkie is a warm, loving person, who takes in the troubled Emmett. They are only together for four days, but it changes both of their lives. It might feel a little far-fetched how well they get along, and help each other through grief, but it works.

I absolutely love this book. It has become one of my all time favorites. I‘ve also listened to it on audiobooks, and found patterns or hints that I missed reading it. Eleanor is a wonderful character who has gone through so much, repressed so much, and is funny in her own way. Very much looking forward to the author‘s next book.
