Pickpick

The American fairytale I‘ve always wanted. It pairs well with Stillwater Artisanal Stateside Saison, pure, enjoyable, and gone faster than I realized was possible (it‘s a long book y‘all, I expected it to take way longer than 3 days to read)

Red Clocks: A Novel | Leni Zumas

Pickpick

Red Clocks took me longer to read than most books, as it was difficult to remind myself that it was fiction. After getting used to the writing style, I found myself able to connect with the different women in many ways, especially The Wife and The Biographer (who are more similar than they think 😏). This isn‘t an easy read, and it‘s not supposed to be, but it is important. Best accompanied by a grapefruit moonshine mule & a quiet space to think

“It was some black magic in him or some weakness in her, that despite it all she yearned to confide in him, to treat him as the solution rather than the problem.” While I‘m not a romantic, this struck home.
