96 Words for Love | Rachel Roy, Ava Dash
post image

My super late #BoutofBooks tbr that I put together the night before it started lol. It‘s been.... going 😂 I finished 96 Words For Love by Rachel Roy and Ava Dash. My favorite thing about it is the main characters realistic journey from feeling lost in life (been there - still there!) to finding that one thing that she‘s so passionate about that it helps her find some direction in her life. It was a really great read
- recommend!

Clwojick My boyfriend is a bear is one of my favs! 5y
HipcheckandPaperbacks @Clwojick I‘m excited to read it! I saw the type and my eyebrows definitely got pretty high lol but it still seemed pretty interesting 5y

I felt so soft and fluffy after finishing this lol. I‘m not much for contemporary but I definitely wouldn‘t mind re-reading it one day.

I really need to stop buying books buuuuut I had to get this one since it's the September read for @ thegayYA on twitter. Since I got a new book, I had to get a new bookmark too I mean come on! 😄

Leah loves gay guys, so she‘d probably be freaking thrilled.

But I‘m tired of coming out. All I ever do is come out. I try not to change, but I keep changing, in all these tiny ways. I get a girlfriend. I have a beer. And every freaking time, I have to reintroduce myself to the universe all over again.

This was my 1st taste of time travel genre & this book kinda made me not want to visit again. I really didn't like the writing style, the plot was all over, and the main was so flaky. The only reasons I pushed through to the end were 1. I think every book deserves a fair chance & 2. I have this horrible habit of not being able to quit a book once I've started it no matter how much I don't like it. Believe me, I've tried to stop #StruggleRead

Kris10H I thought maybe it was just me, and that I'm getting too old for this YA stuff, but I'm seeing a lot of reviews like this. If you ever want to try 'time travel' again, I suggest Dark Matter, by Blake Crouch. 3y

This book broke my heart and then started to put me back together again. It was not at all how I imagined it to be and I'm so glad. This book made me think about myself of some of the thoughts I have at times. It showed me both sides of how one decision can affect many people. It's definitely something I needed to read. I'll be buying my own personal copy very soon I'm sure, this is something I know I'll want and have to read again.

I loved this! A nice short fantasy story. I immediately got into the story and the illustrations are so beautiful that I stayed on a page for a while after I finished reading it. Though it's geared towards children I think everyone would enjoy this light read. I'd love to read more books like this!

This book is so wonderful, important, relevant. As a reader you're able to gain a little more insight on how a person young or old might be feeling when they are struggling to find the right gender identity for them. I think Alex Gino did a wonderful job at making the topic understandable for middle grade readers while still being enjoyable to older readers. I definitely had to hold back some tears a couple times as I was reading this!

I originally gave the book a high rating simply for it being a HP book and because it gave me an opportunity to go to another midnight release after so long. I enjoyed the book especially the time tuner aspect but there was a lot the didn't sit well with me like Ron basically being comic relief & being baited the whole play for one ship only for it not to happen. Overall I liked it. I'll prob stick to fanon on many things though lol

I read this book during my local pride week (my first!!) & it couldn't have come out at a better time. It's the feelings of post graduation terror, some DEEP soul searching, desperation for love, & that fulfillment when you finally find a place that at the moment in your life, feels like home. I honestly can't say enough good about this book and how it was exactly what I needed right now. I definitely recommend especially as a pride week read!

I'm 95 pages in and loving it. This is one of the sentences that really resonated with me. I am a Christian who identifies as gay. I recently came out to some friends many of whom are christians as well and it's been a bit tough trying to explain to them how I can be both. This statement is what I really want people to know about gay Christians.
