This half of the book is a whirlwind of emotions! The Wells family fell apart, and came back together (sort of) over the span of many years in tragic ways and shows that it is truly very hard to escape your past. This is the part of the book that gave the story behind the first scene of the book as well. This section shows the contrasts between the lives of each family member and highlights who thrived and who fell apart in the end of the story…

So far I am loving this book!! I have only read up to page 145 where they are in the midst of there stay in Welch with Rex‘s parents. Things seem a little weird at this point of the book, seeing as his parents are a little whacko. The dynamic Jeanette seems to be forming with Erma (Rex‘s mom) is strange. You would expect a grandmother to be happy seeing her grandkids… but I guess that‘s not the case. Overall i‘m excited to see what comes next!
