If you like books that are filled with betrayal, drama and intense action that will leave you on the edge of your seat, then this is the book for you!

Ella.Torres After Katniss is rescued from the Quarter Quell arena and District 12 is demolished, District 13 comes out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. In the final book of The Hunger Games series, the revolution continues to unfold, and Katniss is experiencing pressure from District 13‘s leaders to be the Mockingjay. 3y
Ella.Torres Becoming the figurehead for the revolution that her defiance against the Capitol has helped spark is a role that Katniss isn‘t sure she can manage, as it means that she is accountable for many people who depend on her to alter the future of Panem.

Ella.Torres Mockingjay is written in the first-person point of view, so for better or for worse, Katniss continues to be the narrator. First-person point of view uses pronouns such as “I”, “we”, “us” and “our”. Collins, the author, establishes the first-person point of view by presenting Katniss‘ thoughts and unique interpretations of the other characters and society. 3y
Ella.Torres This makes the story feel personal and allows readers to connect with the main character. However, with that said, readers are limited to only knowing what is going on in her mind.

Although both Katniss and Peeta have won the Hunger Games, neither has achieved their fairy tale ending, especially with rumours spreading of a rebellion against the Capitol - one that they may have helped ignite. Catching Fire, an excellent sequel to The Hunger Games, revolves around the aftermath of Katniss and Peeta surviving against all odds, and tackling the unforgettable memories that terrorize them at night.

Ella.Torres If you enjoy reading books that are a blend of suspense, romance and science fiction, then this is a perfect book for you! 3y
Ella.Torres Representing safety and security, Katniss‘ bow and arrows are a recurring motif in the novel. This weapon is important to Katniss as she relies on her bow and arrow to ensure that her family has food. 3y
Ella.Torres Also, hunting in the woods and knowing that she can provide for her family gives her a sense of comfort. Moreover, in the arena, Katniss uses it to protect herself, therefore granting her confidence and increasing her chances of survival during the torturous game.

MissYaremcio Nicely done! I love how you picked up on Katniss's weapons being a motif and not a symbol as she does have several bows throughout the story! 6/6 3y
