What I found most successful was the sense of time and place, grandeur and possibility Joel evokes in her conjured glimpses into the lives and minds of Rosetta and Zeno.

Something about Katrina Onstad's writing style just really clicked with me. Sharp and wise in a wholly understated manner, finding humor and heart in the detritus of the everyday. Hard to find but well worth the effort to track down.
