This was a fun, easy read that got my reading mojo back. I enjoyed the ride through the main character‘s journey to finding herself, as well as her family backstory. It was a bit of a quick and easy resolution to main character achieving her goal, although the oscillations of mental health were acknowledged through the character‘s brother. Overall, an upbeat book that kept me engaged

Pickpick

Not my typical pick, I admittedly chose this book because the cover stood out from the design-of-the-day standard. This book did not provide the payoff that I wanted at the end, but I generally enjoyed the journey. I thought the writing was lovely, but I did not quite get a full sense of the main character‘s motivations, between how she was initially presented to who she became after her marriage —a span of maybe a month at most.

Pickpick

Every so often I encounter a book that feels like serendipity. If I had read this years ago, I would have panned it. I slogged through the beginning. I liked his world building, but had a hard time caring about the narrator. Then I got to the last 100 pages. I can see how it would be a bit of a downer, but he presents a very real articulation of life that is rarely heard in times where we must always portray our optimal selves.
