Def sciencey but also super fascinating. So many incredible factoids and lab studies on all types of creatures. Absolutely widened my worldview.

These are so good with so much information. I‘ll never remember even half of it probably, but it‘s done so well, and the (colour) illustrations are beautiful. Even simple things I probably should have known like what characteristics distinguish a raptor. It was interesting to see the close-up illustrations of the birds, like their beaks and talons to distinguish, as I am never likely to see that in person! I am enjoying this entire series so much.

This is so well done and I think anyone can learn from these. There are things crows do that remind me of humans. One thing I didn‘t know that crows are very good imitators (with sounds!). This series called “Science Comics” and is so good. This is the 2nd book I‘ve read in the series and they‘ve both been very good and I have learned things! The illustrations are also very well done, including images of a couple of things in their actual size.

I do love corvids, even if the Blue Jay's are gluttons at my feeders. Can I complain about the uptick in book prices at goodwill lately though? What's up with that?

TheBookHippie Seriously here as well 😳💵💸 3mo

-7 here in Michigan today, but we‘re warm from the glow of our first playoff win in 32 years! I‘m planning a day of reading and tea. I need to post challenge pics and my bingo card too. Stay warm, MittenLittens, and all who are in the track of blizzards and frigid temps!

TheSpineView Yikes! If a day is in the mid 40s here people think we have moved Antarctica.😅 3mo
MittenGirlPeach @TheSpineView we don‘t get weather like this as often anymore, but it is COLD out there. Our old English sheepdog was like—“yeah, no. Did my business, now let‘s go in Dad!” 3mo

Chelsea.Poole Congrats on the win! 3mo
MittenGirlPeach @Chelsea.Poole thank you so much! 🧡 3mo
RamsFan1963 @MittenGirlPeach Congrats on the Lions victory on Sunday. I hated to see my Rams lose, but if it had to happen, I'm glad it was Goff and the Lions they lost to and not the Cowgirls. 3mo
MittenGirlPeach @RamsFan1963 awww, thank you! Now we get to host another game, which is fabulous. Sooo happy for Jared too. 3mo
RamsFan1963 @MittenGirlPeach The Lions will have no problem with the Bucs, so I'm excited to see them play the 49ers (probably) in the NFC Championship game 3mo
MittenGirlPeach @RamsFan1963 🤞! So hope you‘re right! This season has been super stressful. We‘re not used to so much being on the line! 3mo

Zoo Quest in Paraguay | David Attenborough

Pickpick

Final book for #readingtheamericas23!

I borrowed the book from my Mum, which includes Zoo Quests in Indonesia and #guyana too, but #paraguay is also available in a stand-alone book, tagged.

I loved this book, which is David mostly looking for armadillos in 1958.

In fact I‘ve loved this whole challenge - thank you Barbara and Jess for hosting! I cheated a little bit this year, and two books did a lot of the heavy lifting, covering a number ⬇️

squirrelbrain …of countries each. Those books are tagged below, and were amongst my favourites of the challenge. Also, two fiction books were my top and bottom. The Violin Conspiracy was my favourite, and I hated Really Good, Actually. Weirdly, I read both right at the start of the challenge in January / February. 5mo
