4/5

A fun audio novella sequel to The Unhoneymooners. This time Ami is in Maui for Ethan and Olive's wedding, which she's planning with the help of the very cute best man, Brody. Now it's Ami's chance for a tropical romance.

It was a fun short read, and I was glad Ami got a chance at love.

This charming, sweet, and true-to-life graphic memoir about the making of a wedding from bestselling cartoonist Lucy Knisley gets into the nitty gritty of nuptials, from the marketing onslaught to the DIY decorative details to navigating social niceties and negotiating parental priorities. I‘m already married, so it was a bit nostalgic to read—would make a great gift for an engagement party!

I like it when authors and illustrators really let you into their everyday life. This book was like chatting with a friend during the year of planning her wedding. Lucy, as an artist and general non-conformist, wanted to pick and choose the elements of a wedding that resonated with her and her partner. Lots of things were DIY and she relied on many artsy and foodie friends too. It was cool to see real photos interspersed with the illustrations!

Tracyantoon Yay!! So glad you liked this book. So much fun! Love those flowers in your pic!📚❤️💐 4y

12 books completed in January for me. Not bad considering I had company at my house for half the month.
Breakdown:
5 audiobooks
3 graphic novels
4 mystery/thrillers
4 contemporary fiction
1 historical fiction
8 of those were 4 or 5 star reads for me. Yay for books!📚😁🎉

TerriGreen 9 books for me in January. 3 audio, 3 library books, 3 books on my unread shelf. 3 graphic novels, 3 historical, 4 contemporary, 2 non fic. 4y
Tracyantoon @TerriGreen 3 books on your unread shelf is great! You‘ll be forced to buy books again in no time at that rate! 4y

I got married back in 2007 so it‘s been a minute since I‘ve really thought about wedding stuff. This book though was so so great. I adore everything about Lucy Knisley‘s books. Accurate yet sweet portrayal of the craziness involved with planning a big wedding. Funny and heartfelt. I also liked seeing the real pics from her wedding day included in the book. So much fun!! I loved it! 5⭐️

LiteraryinLawrence This is waiting for me to pick up tomorrow at my library branch! I‘m excited to read it and glad you loved it. 4y
TerriGreen I loved this one too. It felt like you were invited to her wedding. 4y

What a great graphic memoir about trying to plan a wedding that fits who you are but doesn't break the bank. Knisley's drawings, like her words, are precise, with just enough detail. Topics range from fun facts about wedding traditions around the world to fighting with your mom about her inviting the whole neighbourhood to making crafty decorations to how to reconcile a bisexual feminist identity with the hetero/sexist institution of marriage.
