4-27-21: My 42nd finished book of 2021! Beth Harmon becomes an orphan after her mother dies in a car crash. While at the orphanage she learns to play chess from the janitor. The trajectory of her life from that point forward is astounding. The novel is good but the show on Netflix is amazing. It stays true to the book only changing the order of some of the scenes. Currently reading! I binge watched the series! It was fantastic! Great actors, set dressing, wardrobe, and the direction was mesmerizing! So far I‘m loving the book and I‘m happy to see they were pretty true to it so far!
