I‘m confused by this #newberyhonor book. On the one hand, I‘m really enjoying it personally. On the other hand, I‘m having trouble deciding who I would recommend it to at my library. Parts are very violent, in a cartoonish & yet still explicit way, and there is a ton of talk of ale— historically accurate but still excessive for most kids. And then there‘s an entire chapter about a farting dragon. 🤷♀️
But I‘m having a blast. Plus the beer is 💯

emtobiasz @TracyReadsBooks good! I‘m really glad it‘s finding an audience, because I loved it. I‘m just still hesitant enough about my readers‘ advisory skills for kids to be nervous— I find I tend to recommend things kids may love in a year or two but aren‘t ready for just yet. Still tweaking my process— although I‘ll probably be working on that in one way or another for the rest of my career 😄 6y
