“And everywhere they knew what gifts the sun wanted”

I found this book difficult to read. It took me a few times through to be able to grasp what was being said. The illustrations, however, are beautiful and give more meaning to the story once the ideas are figured out.

This Caldecott Award winning book tells of the different ways days are started around the world. Different cultures have their own traditions and routines, but we all wake to the same sun.

I loved this book! I think the illustrations were beautiful and the story was even better. I think it‘s a great story to read to children about how great every day can be!

“Regardless of the reason, start the day slowly, and take things at a pace that is right for you.”

I appreciated this as someone who isn‘t a morning person.
