#Scarathalon Photo Challenge - Day 5 - Blood 🩸

Last night‘s Broadway show brought this one to mind. Saw this a few weeks ago - currently starring Josh Groban as the deadly barber - but the night of he was out with COVID. 🥲

Clwojick So fun! One of my favourites! 6mo
ChaoticMissAdventures Oh! I love that play too, I bet even without him it was awesome. 6mo
Melismatic @ChaoticMissAdventures it definitely was! 6mo

I loved this memoir of Mary Rodgers, the daughter of Richard Rodgers of Rodgers and Hammerstein fame and a musical talent in her own right. She is best known for composing the music to Once Upon a Mattress and writing the children‘s classic book, Freaky Friday. Her sharp wit and personality shone through in this chatty memoir. She had a front row seat to the creation of many musical classics and I would recommend this to any big Broadway fan.

Ruthiella I loved Freaky Friday as a kid! And also the movie with Jodie Foster. 12mo
Ncostell @Ruthiella I know, I loved both the book and the original movie too! I want to go back and revisit them both now. 12mo

I think I finished the first volume last March! I‘ve read it alongside other books when I had the time and I‘m so glad I finally finished it. A must read for anyone passingly familiar with Sondheim, and so much more potent now that the giant is gone from this plane.

Don't mind me, just weeping in spite of myself. Sondheim, you mad bastard; thank you. #SeeMoreTheatre

Ruthiella What‘s your favorite Sondheim? I‘ve not seen/heard them all, but I think Company is my No. 1. 2y
Andrea313 @Ruthiella Such a hard question! My favorite is probably Assassins, followed VERY closely by Sunday. But Into the Woods and Sweeney are also high on the list; it honestly feels impossible to choose! 2y
Ruthiella It‘s a totally unfair question! 😂 Assassins is maybe my second favorite and I‘ve never heard or seen Sunday in the Park with George…but I think I‘d start with Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters. 2y
