Killing Floor | Lee Child, Child

Well, never thought I would have shingles at the age of 39, but here I am. Stress is a funny thing, it can bring out the worst in you.

On the plus side, I can take tmrw off work to rest, so I'm going to focus on my reading and maybe do some more audiocrafting.

The moral of the story, take time for yourself and don't let stress consume you.

Bookworm54 Hope you feel better soon! 3mo

mdm139 I hope you get better soon. I had them when I was 21 and remember the awfulness. Take the time for lots of self care. 3mo
Ruthiella Hope you recover swiftly! ❤️ 3mo
KristiAhlers I got shingles when I was 35. It was the worst pain I have ever experienced and that‘s to include child birth. Hope you soon start to feel some relief. My was triggered by horrible stress too. 3mo
AmyG My son had it in his mid 20‘s. I hope it‘s bot too painful for you and you recover soon. 3mo
aperfectmjk @KristiAhlers geez! I've never had a child... so now I'm not feeling so confident. So far the pain is manageable, but I was really scared there for a bit because I was having chest pain, which apparently is common. My husband keeps downplaying it... saying "Oh, you're not really sick." 3mo
curiouserandcurioser @aperfectmjk saying prayers for healing and quick recovery🙏 rest and take care of you💜 3mo

KristiAhlers @aperfectmjk it may just depend on where your shingles have broken out. Mine started in the middle of my spine and wrapped around my left side to end in my left nipple. And it rode right along the bra line. My husband came up one day and just rubbed his hand down my back like he always does and it dropped me to the floor. I pray yours aren‘t as painful. (edited) 3mo
aperfectmjk @KristiAhlers mine also started with pain in my spine, the rash is on my left side right along the bra line as well. It has not spread to the front side of my body, and I hope it doesn't. But, I do feel muscle tension in my chest, neck, and armpit area, which I think may be from my lymph node being swollen. 3mo
Kimberlone I had shingles for the first time at 26! Super stressful time in my life. It was pretty horrible and I even caught it early. Unfortunately runs in my family :/ thankfully haven‘t had an outbreak since then. I feel your pain! It gets better 💜 3mo
Megabooks I‘m so sorry you‘re dealing with that and the stress that caused it. 💜 3mo

Book ten in the Jack Reacher series and this never gets old, I have loved every book and even although they always follow the same formula, I can't get enough.

Jack rarely goes to the same cafe twice but the coffee is great so he breaks his own rule.

That second cup of coffee takes us from New York, USA to Norwich, UK and those last 40 pages had me on the edge!

Jack makes these books for me, I crush hard on him and I feel no shame!

Although I felt it was a bit long, this is still a solid pick for me. I found it intriguing and probably not so far fetched as one might think. Reacher does what Reacher does. He solves the problem, kisses the girl, and leaves. Fun reading. This was my May #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks

Bklover Great Reacher summary. 4mo
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! 4mo
TheAromaofBooks Your summary reminded me of the Zatoichi movies (my husband loves them) although he doesn't usually actually KISS the girl, he just leaves her crying in the distance 😂 4mo

#BigJuneReadathon #Luck

Bad #Luck and Trouble was one of the first Jack Reacher books I read, and it is still one of my favourites. Although I must admit I‘ve fallen a bit out of love with the books recently.

@Clwojick

LitStephanie I have read a couple and thought they were fun. Might try this one next 4mo

Had some driving to do so mostly audio on this one. There is a threat to the Vice President elect so the Secret Service engaged the services of Reacher to find holes in their security.Complicated by the fact the head of the detail is an interesting woman who was in a relationship w/ Reacher‘s brother Joe , now deceased. There are layers & layers to be uncovered, seems Reacher is the right man for the job.sixth in the series.

Book 8 in the Jack Reacher series and this is where I go for a comfort read. I know I'm guaranteed to be immersed, taken away from reality and it's going to be a 5 star journey.

In this novel we see Jack in the army which Is something I'd been hoping for plus we got a bit of back story with his mother and his relationship with Joe, his brother.

I love the precision in the writing style in these books. Its so simple and straightforward.

I don‘t read this genre very often. I‘m glad I read this book. I plan to watch the series on Amazon Prime next. Jack Reacher is a fascinating character, who it seems can‘t be stopped. I‘d like to continue on with this series to see where it takes him. It deems that his character is the only content that will go from book to book. If you liked fast paced and action packed, this book is for you.
