This story was so much fun. I wasn‘t sure how this story was going to go when libby sent me this book, but I am glad Libby did. The story of living your truth no matter what. Also knowing your value and fighting to be seen. This story is about love, discovery, and don‘t forget FASHION! 8 out of 10.

I will say the casting of Desi queer cheerleader was genius. The acknowledgement of how profound and important that is can be seen in the book. I would loved a little bit more from Irene, but Scottie was the central character. I love how YA leads are more than just one type of person. Having desi cheerleader is the representation I love seeing in YA novels. There is someone out there reading this book feeling seen. #desi #gl #queerstories #ya

7 out of 10. A queer remake of the 80s movie “she can‘t buy me love”, but with a modern look of how losing ones self in pride, grief, and denial can lead to losing everything. Fun story, very predictable. I will say the honesty towards the end of the book was refreshing. There are some 80s/90s references most people will love.

Cute story - little lost in weeds for a moment till the pace picked up and gave way to what the reader was suppose to learn. This story is about growth, acceptance, defiance, and making a new normal. 7.5 out of 10, this would make a great cozy read. Good Valentines season book. #gl #queerstories #graphicnovel #fantasy

This story was so cute but I would have liked a small epilogue to see what happens 7 years later. I love the mix of Celtic myth & coming out story. I love to see other mythical creatures come to forefront. 8 out of 10 for me. #summerread #queerstories #selkies #gl #woc

Decided to take a side quest with this sweet graphic novel.Sweet coming of age story. I heard good things about it. Friday night reading fun. Nothing like winter cold & graphic novels on my iPad with herbal tea ☕️I will say this would be a fun summer read with boba too. #gl #queerstories #comingofage #graphicnovel #fantasy #ya

Now Kingdom of Souls is wrapped up, I rolled again and here I am. Another heavy fantasy story, this is Part 2 to one of my favorite fantasy series, The Gilded Ones. If you haven‘t read the series, add it to your TBR, you will not be disappointed.

Kenyazero I recently watched a virtual talk (more of a Q&A) by this author through my library (via the Library Speaker's Consortium). It was a good talk. She seems like an interesting lady. I wonder if it'll let me share the recorded webinar? https://libraryc.org/ppld/21698/42766 14mo

Another fabulous graphic novel from Molly Knox Ostertag, creator of Witch Boy! This modern day retelling of a selkie story revolves around a teenage girl who has a plan to tell her family and friends she‘s gay after she leaves home, but falling in love interrupts those plans.

I finished this earlier today and really enjoyed it. It's a quick read and makes you think about the choices we make which may seem right, but if we are not being true to ourselves, they are ultimately wrong. Some of the characters lacked nuance, but for the purpose they served in the narrative, this worked. #queerstories
