Thank you, Katniss Everdeen, for inspiring a generation of girls to pursue archery! My daughter Katie, in the glasses, shot a personal best 279/300 to help her team to a 22nd place at the national championship, reaching their goal of top 25 & the top team from Tennessee. It also placed her in the top 8% of all girls who competed. 🎯

Will you please allow me a non-bookish proud mom moment? My daughter's high school archery team just won the state championship for Tennessee -- for the third year in a row! Next stop: nationals in Louisville, KY!

Actually, this isn't such a non-bookish post, because I'm not sure that Katie ever would have taken an interest in archery without reading about Katniss. What a great role model! #myKateniss
