4/5

A fun audio novella sequel to The Unhoneymooners. This time Ami is in Maui for Ethan and Olive's wedding, which she's planning with the help of the very cute best man, Brody. Now it's Ami's chance for a tropical romance.

It was a fun short read, and I was glad Ami got a chance at love.

I did like the book but it kind of jumped around a bunch. Sometimes it was hard to follow but it was an easy and fun read!

Mehso-so

A teen is found dead on Maui in what is first thought to be a surfing mishap, but is soon revealed as murder. This was a mixed bag for me. Great main character with a fabulous dog and a good sense of place. But the murder weapon was immediately obvious to me, yet somehow the Native Hawaiian investigators can‘t figure it out until 3/4 of the way through the book? Not sure if this is simply bad mystery writing or full-on offensive.

Most of my books are packed because we‘re in the middle of selling our place. This is an oldie but a goodie #Greencovers #DearDecember

1. The tagged book and 5 others I‘ve started and not managed to finish yet. I blame work stress 😖 2. Pumpkin! 3. “His experiences with Damkroger, Crabbe, and Hughes had shaken his confidence, and as he‘d gotten on the Matsonian, Sakamoto imagined that a trip with so many haoles would be bleak and humiliating and that he would continually be aware of his role as a second-class citizen with a first-class ticket.” #weekendreads @rachelsbrittain

Sbk89 1. Letters to Sam/ The Meccan revelation/ The woman who went to bed for a year. 2. Both. 3. “Your differentness will make people want to help you, too; and helping you will help them feel good.” 5y
Smrloomis @Sbk89 👍🏽 Is the Meccan Revelations readable? And are there really something like 40 volumes??? 🙈 5y
Sbk89 It‘s readable 😂 but be prepared to read a paragraph several times in order to grasp it. It‘s definitely not an easy read. I‘m not really sure how many volumes, but this one does refer to other volumes a great deal. 5y

Just started this and so far it‘s good. I wish the author had a slightly more parsimonious editor but overall it‘s an enjoyable read. Thanks @DebinHawaii for the recommendation!

DebinHawaii Glad you are enjoying it even with the editing. 😉 5y
Smrloomis @DebinHawaii I am grouchy about it 😂 but yes! 😆 5y

I told the gardener, "Too many agapanthus? Impossible!" Indeed, not all of them are blooming yet, but it's a delightful view from inside or out on a beautiful, quiet Sunday morning. Made a Starbucks run & am now relaxing for a bit with #MrsEverything, #JenniferWeiner's new novel.

I've been so busy since I returned from #Maui, I've had no time for reviews. Just a 4-day week stands between me & a staycation when I can read & write reviews! ???
