“Still, there was the little bowl of milk, just waiting”
I think this is a humorous book for children. I love that the author and illustrator show and say many other things that may look like a bowl of milk. To add to that, the ending was also great.
“So she went back home- and there was a great big bowl of milk on the porch, just waiting for her.“
A super cute and fun story about Kitten, the main character and how they mistake the full moon for a bowl of milk! Kitten finds a surprise at the end of the story!
Kitten's First Full Moon was written by Kevin Henkes. This book won a Caldecott Award in 2005. I thought that this story was super cute! I really enjoyed the illustrations; especially how they were in black and white. This story was about how Kitten mistakes the full moon for a bowl and milk. Throughout the story, Kitten tries to find this bowl of milk- but at the end Kitten actually does!
Kitten‘s First Full Moon by Kevin Henkes published in 2004 is a great Kindergarten or 1st grade book! It is about a kitten‘s first experience with the moon. The adventure the kitten goes on is great for igniting children‘s imagination. This book received the Caldecott award, which is justifiable because the illustrations are exquisite throughout the whole book. It is a great read for children!
A kitten sees it‘s first full moon and thinks it‘s a bowl of milk. He goes out to try to get to “the bowl of milk” and does not succeed. He sees the reflection in the pond and falls in trying to get to the milk. He ends up wet, hungry, and sad. When he gets home there is a bowl of milk waiting and he is happy. It won the Caldecott award for pictures and was published in 2004. The genre is fiction and it is written and illustrated by Kevin Henkes.
