BekahB @bitterbear I started it right before bed last night, but only got about 15 pages in before I fell asleep. I started reading Pork Pie Hat this morning but I'm almost finished with it. I'm planning on jumping back into SGJ's book next. 7y
bitterbear @BekahB Tag me when you're done... I'm curious about your thoughts. 😊😊 7y
BekahB @bitterbear I just finished it! I'm a fan of SGJ; I love the way he writes. This went a little darker than I expected it to based on the beginning of the story. 7y
bitterbear @BekahB I don't know... Here is my question... Would the main character really do that for his son?? I mean he only would see him a couple times a year and would he really sacrifice his brother like that? It kind of seemed like a pet cemetery rip off to me. 7y
BekahB @bitterbear I agree; the last few pages threw me too. Especially when he was going to use his brother like that. I thought maybe he was just broken after what happened. That combined with the comment he made as a kid about being a better father for his son. It was just a messed up, flawed way to be "better" after not being there for him as he was growing up. 7y
BekahB @bitterbear I definitely got Pet Semetary vibes, especially with the mismatched dogs situation. I was fine with it though. It was interesting how 12 year old Junior was making up the ritual with his dad as things progressed and that adult Junior was going to follow those steps exactly even down to his brother swallowing part of the action figure and using the same spot behind his ear. 7y
bitterbear @BekahB Overall I did like it... I really felt bad for Dino... 7y
