This is a fun book. If you are a fan of Survivor or other reality shows, this gives a behind the scenes look at the filming of a show. The contestants competing on a deserted tropical island find out that the island is inhabited by mutant humanoids. It is action packed and interesting. The main characters were likable and I was rooting for them. I also liked the author's note that the creatures were inspired by Richard Laymon's Beast House series.

This reality show gone very wrong horror was way gorier than I was expecting. I think it‘s hard not to have deplorable characters when you are setting something up like this, and the “happy” ending seems a little unrealistic, but overall a pretty satisfying read.

I can‘t remember where I got the recommendation to read this one, but a horror novel that is essentially a mix between Lost and Survivor is definitely my jam.

TheNeverendingTBR Aww this is sweet af!! I've read a good chunk of my Necronomicon - The Best Weird Tales of H.P. Lovecraft, I really love his tales; they are weird for sure. He aims more for installing an overall FEEL into the reader, that's like his goal; he's got absolutely no character development. I found myself reading him with my pocket dictionary alongside me as he uses a lot of obscure and dead words. There's a charm to his style. 6y

TheNeverendingTBR Well like King said before "Lovecraft, opened the way for me." He was one of Kings biggest influences, you can see that influence through our current read 'salems Lot. 6y
