so-soBook 4 FINALLY came in at the library after months of being on hold. Yay! That being said, I kind of hope this is Kawaguchi's last installment in this series. As much as I liked books one and two, book three and now four have fallen somewhat flat for me. The concepts behind the stories are still well and good, but something about the writing and the timing just seems off to me. ⭐⭐⭐ + 1/2 ⭐

This was funny, light but nuanced, and overall a clever subversion of familiar tropes (& stereotypes/double binds familiar to most women with time and experience). I think it pairs well with the traditional fairytales mentioned (Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel) to offer grounding and an alternate perspective. ⚖️🤷🏻♀️💅🏻✨💖

pickFourth installment of Before The Coffee Gets Cold. I enjoyed it. I would like to re-read all of them at one point, straight through. Pretty sure my favorite was the third, Before Your Memory Fades.

I like Smith‘s Sartorias-deles series and was recommended this series. I recently read ‘Prisoner of Zenda‘ 💔and I really enjoyed Smith‘s ‘Crown & Court‘. I‘m I the mood for a fantasy with a (clean) romance so this is my first pick for the year. Nearly halfway through and enjoying it.
