#publishedinthe1960s As a teenager and young adult, my dad was a big fan of Alan Watts. These are his copies of two of his favorites. He gave me a copy of "the taboo against knowing who you are," when I left for college. #yearofgrieving #dadsreadinglist #aprilbookshowers

BarbaraTheBibliophage Aww. Nice to have those memories of your dad. There are lots of videos on YouTube with Alan Watts quotes. I've always found them thought provoking and beautiful. 7y

Chronicles | Bob Dylan

I loved this autobiography, which reads almost like a book length poem. This is the copy I got my dad who introduced me to Dylan when I was about 5 or 6 years old. #deckleedge #feistyfeb #dadsreadinglist @RealLifeReading

Suzze Very cool. I saw him in concert a few years ago in Ann Arbor. Got to check it off my bucket list. 7y
Blaire @Suzze I saw him again this year in Charleston and the performance brought me to tears. He was my dad's favorite and I think of him every time I listen to Dylan. Glad you got to see him in person. ☺️ 7y

Pickpick

Another classic collection, with regular appearances by tippy Flossie, aunt agatha, aunt dahlia, and bingo. One favorite is The Love That Purifies where there is a contest based on the behaviour of two boys. #dadsreadinglist

Also, must note the great preface, which I almost skipped. #dadsreadinglist #mourning

Carry On, Jeeves | P G Wodehouse

Pickpick

In this one, Jeeves first comes into Bertie's employment, and quickly saves him from an ill-matched engagement. Follows the usual pattern, entertaining as ever. Love that the final story is from Jeeves perspective so the reader can see how he works his magic. #dadsreadinglist #mourning

The Inimitable Jeeves | P. G. Wodehouse

Pickpick

The first book fully starring Jeeves. He helps Wooster get out of all kinds of scrapes, particularly with his school friend bingo little who falls in love with each woman he meets. One of the funniest stories feature Bertie and friends betting on the games of a school field day such as the egg n' spoon race and bets on which preacher will give the lengthiest sermon. #dadsreadinglist

Things I love about my husband's family...they all love to just sit outside and read. Weekend perfection. Jeeves and coffee and fresh air. #yearofjeeves #dadsreadinglist #mourning
