This is one of the rare times I will say I liked the movie better than the book. But I do love the #carriage art on this cover. I also enjoyed the subplot featuring Lydia and Wickham after their #elopement.

Going for a different sort of #carriage, a railway carriage, with this Poem from Robert Louis Stevenson. This one is titled From a Railway Carriage and was published in his A Child”s Garden Of Verses. It is a favourite of mine. #150PNPCoverParty #carriages

merelybookish Good one! I love that collection. 6y
robinb Oh, I ❤️ this! 6y
CarolynM This is the poem that made me love poetry. I think I was about 8 years old when I first read it in a school text book. We had been using the book for some boring grammar exercise or some such, and having finished I was flicking through it looking for something more interesting when I found this. I clearly remember how thrilled I was by the rhythm and the rhyme. Thank you for reminding me. 6y
LeahBergen This is wonderful! 😍😍 6y
CrowCAH That is beautifully written! I actually didn‘t catch that it was about a train 🚂 6y

Carthage, NC is a town that was built on the #carriage trade. I saw this house there once when we were out exploring and if I had the Darcy‘s wealth I‘d have bought it on the spot. So many cool Italianate details that I couldn‘t get them all in one picture, but this is a sample. #150PnPCoverParty @CrowCAH @LeahBergen

LeahBergen Oh, wow. 😍😍 6y
