Trainspotting | Irvine Welsh

Now listening to Irvine Welsh say so many F words in this Singapore panel, it‘s hilarious. Listening to Mariko Tamaki is a joy. Balli Kaur Jaswal of Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows fame is very nuanced and articulate. Could have gone for a less opinionated Moderator who could have led the conversation further but oh well. #SingaporeWritersFestival #SWF2018.

Moray_Reads Moderators can make such a difference to the experience but at least you got to see some very cool people! 5y

House of Beauty | Melba Escobar

Currently listening to Melba Escobar from Colombia talking about her unexpected crime novel (tagged here) for the Singapore Writers Festival #SWF2018. Has anyone here read this novel yet? I am intrigued by the premise but the Goodreads ranking is fairly low. @ephemeralwaltz Clara, any thoughts? Is this in your radar?

Cinfhen Premise sounds good 5y

Beautiful Creatures | Kami Garcia, Margaret Stohl

One of the highlights of the #SWF2018 Singapore writers Festival this year. Happened just an hour ago. Dynamic creators talking about the power of superheroines. Mariko Tamaki, in particular, was riveting. But Stohl held her own as well. Thus far, this is the only session that we truly enjoyed, but it is only the second day. So plenty of time for a turnaround.
