And Then There Were None | Agatha Christie

#ReadAlikeThatGotAway
This is a brilliant question posed by the wonderful @monalyisha Is there a book that made such an impact, you wish you could read it again for the first time? For me, it‘s “And Then There Were None”. As a kid, I loved children‘s mysteries like the Hardy Boys, but nothing prepared me for the first time I tried Agatha Christie. Haunting, spellbinding and mind boggling, this book set me on a course to be a bibliophile for life!

Hestapleton This book made me the thriller junkie I am! 8mo
DaveGreen7777 @Hestapleton I can totally understand why, this book is unforgettable! 😱 8mo
RainyDayReading I have been trying to find a book that captures the feel of And Then There Were None for years!! I‘ve found books with pieces, but not fully what I‘ve been hunting for. But anything compared to And Then There Were None I will read in a heartbeat. 8mo

I know we all have them: that one book that you LOVED, that you wish you could read again for the first time, the one that struck all the right chords & that feels absolutely singular. You look for echoes of it in other titles, in other writers, in other plots, but it eludes you. You cannot find anything like it.

monalyisha What‘s the one book you haven‘t been able to find a read-alike for? Mine is “Weathering.” It‘s a ghost story, with no moves made toward spookiness; it‘s just atmospheric, haunting, lingering, quiet, slow, & lyrical. It‘s more about a sense of place & the ties that bind us than it is about the supernatural — though that piece of it makes it a story that‘s even *more* up my alley. (edited) 8mo
