American-Korean girl meets cute Korean boy in LA, has loads of fun, and falls head over heels. But he goes back to #SouthKorea & doesn‘t respond to her texts. When she travels to Korea with her Mom to help with her ill grandmother, she meets him again-& surprise! He‘s a k-pop superstar! This is a super cute fun read, with many good food references. Highly recommended! #foodandlit @Catsandbooks

There‘s a lot of Korean food in this book for #SouthKorea #foodandlit

I‘m glad I‘m reading this book. It‘s light reading compared to the other two books I‘m reading for South Korea this month, which are both about its independence from Japan.

TheBookHippie Koreatown in LA is so fun! The food is YUMMMMMMMM. It‘s a lovely place to AIRBNB . 4w

I‘m going way outside my comfort zone for my next ebook for #SouthKorea but opted for it because it also satisfies the #letterX for #litsyatoz, which is always hard to find. #foodandlit @Catsandbooks

Catsandbooks This one is on my TBR! 1mo

This was a cute YA romance with kpop themes. It was OK, but didn't bowl me over.

Maybe my crusty old heart is just getting harder to warm, or maybe it was all just a bit formulaic.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

#pop24 - begins with X (also works for book about kpop)

That was one cute, wonderful book! I don‘t know where this Maurene Goo reading rush came from, but I don‘t regret a second of it.

This is a light pick. I mostly read this because it fit a #PopSugar challenge prompt, but I did like the story of the return of the KPop star next door. It took a while for it to really get started, though, and it ended a little abruptly.

A queer, contemporary, dark horror novel with a slow start but a fast paced, tense second half. I enjoyed the Asian folklore/mythology that underpinned the story and the eerie unsettling, claustrophobic atmosphere. This book offered insightful social commentary about damaging female beauty standards and the pressures of stardom in the cutthroat world of K-Pop. It felt a bit muddled at times but overall, a compulsively readable thriller.
