Power outage at the campground last night due to the wind and the rain. Until it warms up outside or the heat comes back on in the cabin, this is where I‘ll be starting the readathon!

Yikes. That wasn't good, or fun. Tried to feel like later episodes of Batman The Animated Series with slightly more mature content in some spots, but added up to a bunch of stories where not much happens except Harley ending up bummed out/disappointed. Couple other characters make brief appearances, but again, stories are so short, there's not much to them. As with later BTAS, art goes downhill as well. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I loved this graphic novel! I remember watching Batman: the animated series when I was a kid and loving the character of Harley Quinn. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

It has been an interesting start to the day… we haven‘t had power for the last hour and a half… pray for me! #teachersoflitsy

Ruthiella Oh no! We don‘t realize how much we rely on it until it is gone. Hope the situation improves soon! 💡 5mo

Morally gray and having a blast! The bloody Looney Tunes antics continue.
Pretty sure that whole island interlude with the indigenous population wouldn't get past the sensitivity readers if it was published today ...😬

As unhinged and violent and sweet and salacious as one might expect. Love any issue that provides evidence for Harley+Poison Ivy 'ship.
Sad to hear that my start at reading this series comes on the same day as the voice of Harley Quinn from the iconic Batman The Animated Series has passed away. 😔 RIP Arleen Sorkin. You remain an inspiration with one heck of a legacy.

Pretty sure Mohawk dude with narrow sunglasses and Batman shirt is a call back to The Dark Knight Returns mutants...🤔

That was... impressively random! Slightly less silly, slightly more violent volume of Harley's adventures. Perhaps a more authentic (or in sync with what I was first introduced to) version of Harley, where the do-gooding happens only once she's provided with focus by another individual. 1/2

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 I really couldn't choose which of the three plot arcs in here is more 'out there', even if one is actually on another planet, but I will say finding out Lord Death Man is a hardcore masochist didn't come as much of a surprise. Neurodivergent rep: those belonging to that community can determine whether it's positive or negative rep...🤷🏼‍♂️ 10mo

I ship it. Friends, lovers, or something more antagonistic, I honestly don't know where canon lands, but I love these two together regardless. This volume offers a bittersweet ending, and a concentrated look at what makes up each of the (ex-?) villains' ongoing motivations/struggles: Harley's search for love and belonging, Ivy's refusal to be powerless or suffer betrayal. Bad-ass-ery abounds, obviously. 1/2

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 What struck me most visually in this volume was not actually the art itself but the way colour was used. Gallivanting outside of Gotham's gothic palette, presented on matte rather than glossy paper (with its icy sheen), the colours are brighter and richer. Harley's more blue and red, than black, and Ivy's even more vibrantly green. It makes a great difference to the tone of the story, and is beautiful to look at besides. 10mo
Robotswithpersonality ⚠️ body horror (plants where they shouldn't be and some voluntary dismemberment 🫣) 10mo

Zany, and a bit raunchier than I expected. It's wonderful seeing Harley Quinn separate from the Joker, while maintaining a formula that works best for her character: duo-ing with someone her frenetic energy can interact and bounce off of. I feel like Harley as the main focus works best for origin-story-time and plots with short attention spans. 💁🏼‍♂️
