Taking a break from Horrror and Fantasy to read some Historical Fiction! Does anyone else sometimes get burnt out reading the same genres?! Hope you all have a happy Sunday. ☕️
It‘s another week!
I‘m diving into I Almost Forgot About You. This isn‘t my first Terry McMillan book, but it is one of her most recently published books that I have yet to read.
I picked it up because I‘m trying not to read our September book pick for the Buddy Reads with Reading Beyond the Book Cover, It‘s Not All Downhill From Here.
I‘m expecting multidimensional characters and drama from this audiobook.
What are you reading this week?

I really liked getting to know the characters in this book. A few stories, though, seemed to end way too quickly without giving the characters enough time to be fleshed out properly.
Whittling away at my #14Books14Weeks2023 pile.
My first book by J. California Cooper and definitely not the last. The title is an intentional nod (or maybe eye roll) to Gone With the Wind. The book tells the story of Lifee and Mordecai Freeman and their journey from enslavement to self-sufficiency after the US Civil War. It‘s not easy but they persevere and succeed despite all the forces aligned against them.
I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!) Feel free to join in!

I‘m a day late! 🤦🏾♀️
1. Tagged book. One of my favorites by Eric Jerome Dickey.
2. My favorite dessert is Pineapple Upside Down Chee at Cheesecake Factory.
