I really enjoy this cookbook but I‘ve made several of the recipes and they don‘t always turn out that tasty. Directions aren‘t always that detailed. I have felt like it‘s more fun to read the explanations rather than successful food made.

So far i'm finding a ton of recipes with dairy which I am trying to avoid, but there are a few that I desperately want to try.

readinginthedark You could substitute non-dairy options! I do this all the time when baking for my sister (she‘s vegan). 6y
InLibrisVeritas @readinginthedark I've yet to find a store within a reasonable distant with vegan cheese/chocolate. I do plan to try and buy some though, it would be nice to find an alternative so I'm not making myself sick because I love cheese too much. (I have a milk allergy) 6y
readinginthedark Yeah, I haven‘t found a vegan cheese that compares. But I‘ve found a couple of semisweet chocolates that I like. Sometimes I look for suggestions in vegan baking or cookbooks. 6y
InLibrisVeritas @readinginthedark I actually just ordered one that centers on comfort food, so I'm hopeful! 6y
readinginthedark Good luck! 6y

I went to the library for the first time in a long time today. They had a ton of new books in stock. The Geeky Chef book caught my eye because it has a ton of really cool recipes in it, including Mass Effect and redwall.

queerbookreader There are probably tons more about specific fandoms but these two mash up a bunch of fandoms !! 6y
InLibrisVeritas @queerbookreader Thank you! I kind of hate cooking, so anything that makes it appealing is a must. 6y

I'm not much of a chef and enjoy #cookbooks as objects to enjoy rather than actually use. This is a fun one, and I've made a few of the cocktails listed, yum! #riotgrams

I don't normally buy cookbooks, but I absolutely love this one. I can't wait to try making cauldron cakes!
