Toots and her friends are caricature characters with no depth. We are constantly reminded that Toots loves to smoke and is rich, throwing money around and trying to solve everyone‘s problems with it. The saving grace was the daughter, Abby, who wants to support herself and not rely on mama‘s money. I liked her, and I liked her crush, Clay. The ending was frustrating, leaving too much unresolved. I may still read book 2 though, for Abby and Clay.
