Rivalry and romance spark when two bookstore managers who are opposites in every way find themselves competing for the same promotion. Despite managing bookstores on the same Boston street, Josie Klein and Ryan Lawson have never interacted muchJosies store focuses on serious literature, and Ryans sells romance only. But when the new owner of both stores decides to combine them, the two are thrust into direct competition. Only one manager will be left standing, decided by who turns the most profit over the summer. Efficient and detail-oriented Josie instantly clashes with easygoing and disorganized Ryan. Their competing events and contrasting styles lead to more than just frustrationthe sparks between them might just set the whole store on fire. Their only solace during this chaos is the friendship theyve each struck up with an anonymous friend in an online book forum. Little do they know theyre actually chatting with each other. As their rivalry heats up in real life, their online relationship grows, and when the walls between their stores come tumbling down, Josie and Ryan realize not alls fair in love and war. And maybe, if theyre lucky, happily ever afters arent just for the books.

I can‘t resist a book about books - supposedly a modern twist of You‘ve Got Mail, I loved all the book references and since this is the summer where I read an unusually ( for me) large amount of romance I got a kick out of knowing some of the romance tropes talked about. An easy fun read

Modern day 'You've Got Mail' vibes but when the guy manages a romance bookstore and she manages a literary fiction bookstore and they are competing for a management position when they are forced to merge.

Romance between two competing booksellers? Sign me up. It was a good enemies to lovers with glimpses into the writing of the genre itself. It was very entertaining, and my husband caught me smiling a couple of times as I was reading it. So that's likely a better endorsement than all these extra words.

5 stars! I LOVED this book! I flew through it in a couple of days! This was the 1st romance I read in a long time & it was so good! I loved all of the info about the indie bookstores & what it‘s like to manage & work at one. I really cared about the characters! I would read this one again! I‘m excited to read the author‘s other books!
