tpixie I just listened to an epistolary novel that had 14 narrators. ( great book, great narrators, especially the main character ) The multiple narrators did help me keep track of the characters. Especially since you didn‘t know who was writing the letter until the end of the letter, I had to use my Notes app to help keep track of the characters - plus all the books they mentioned they were reading.
